Introduction

The CCSBA was constituted in 2004 in order to meet a number of developmental needs within the Podlasie region of North-Eastern Poland. The primary role of the College is the provision of a high standard of academic teaching and research facilities in order to assist future economic growth and development within the region.

The provision of these facilities will provide students with the entrepreneurial skills necessary to start and run their own businesses allowing them to make an active contribution to the employment market and economy of the region.

This role is being realised through the following activities:

• the provision of modern, high-quality education facilities and highly trained academic staff many of whom are recognised as leading experts in their particular research area
• the active encouragement of entrepreneurial activities and cooperation with private enterprises at a regional and national level to ensure the efficient and timely bilateral exchange of innovation and research results
• increasing access to higher education for young people who would not normally consider higher education as part of their personal development such as those living within rural communities

International Cooperation

In addition to its national and regional responsibilites, the CCSBA takes an active part in cooperative projects both within Europe and across developing countries in Asia. This cooperation has resulted in a number of ongoing, working relationships resulting in the increased mobility of both academic staff and students and the promotion of the efficient exchange of research know-how and best-practice activities.

Educational Opportunities

The CCSBA provides a study period of three and half years, seven semesters, after which successful students will receive either a Bachelor's or Engineering Degree depending upon their chosen study area. Included within the curricula is the opportunity for a range of extramural activities and bridging studies allowing students to broaden their learning experience.
