On April 9, 2024 at University of Lomza hosted the exceptional and inspiring Erasmus+ Open Days event. The purpose of this event was to introduce and encourage participation in international studies, internships abroad, and Blended Intensive Programme (BIP). Additionally, the presenters aimed to explain the principles of the Erasmus+ program and the benefits of participation.
Our students, who had the opportunity to benefit from the Erasmus+ Program, shared their experiences and adventures. Among them were participants who spent a semester studying abroad, as well as those who came to Łomża from various parts of the world: Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Turkey, Belgium, Lithuania, and Georgia.
One of the speakers was Piotr Mioduszewski, who recently enjoyed sunny days in Jaén, Spain. He talked about his semester of studying abroad and the experiences he gained. Another speaker, Andrzej Szymborski, focused on presenting to our students the benefits of solutions such as Revolut, Couchsurfing, hitchhiking, and ESN (Erasmus Student Network). Through digital tools, we can simplify making payments in foreign currencies and reduce travel costs by joining an international community of travelers and offering accommodation to other travelers. There are many possibilities in the form of applications, institutions; all it takes is awareness and openness to new experiences.
In the spirit of openness and relationality, participants of the Erasmus+ Open Days shared valuable information and personal knowledge with the audience in the auditorium, engaging in active discussions with them.
Students from abroad, representing different cultures and countries, took the stage. Hasan Can Altinba and Bilge Doga Ruzgarlik from Turkey, as well as Elena Kapanadze and Irine Natchkieba from Georgia, presented their experiences and perspectives on participating in the Erasmus+ program.
This extraordinary event was opened and closed by employees of the International Relations Department, Magdalena Zach and Zbigniew Dziekoński, encouraging students to contact the department and offering assistance with all formalities related to trips abroad.
The Erasmus+ Open Day at University of Lomza not only showcased the richness of cultural diversity but also encouraged our students to seek new opportunities for learning and personal development. Through international cooperation, our university becomes a place where education transcends national borders, opening doors to new inspiring global experiences.
