Computer Science - first-cycle - full-time
Purpose of study
- acquiring advanced knowledge in the field of computer science, construction and operation of computer equipment, computer networks, databases and complex IT systems;
- acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of data collection, transmission, processing, storage and security in information systems;
- acquisition of programming skills enabling the implementation of desktop and web applications and the design of systems based on the Internet and data;
- acquiring the skills to design multimedia systems and to create and process digital and video graphics.
What do you gain when you graduate
- preparation for work as an IT specialist, programmer, graphic designer, systems and applications designer;
- advanced knowledge in the field of operating systems, computer networks, databases, algorithms, artificial intelligence, multimedia and human-computer communication;
- knowledge and skills necessary for the design, implementation and operation of information systems, including both hardware and software;
- the ability to implement standards-compliant and visually attractive desktop, web and mobile applications;
- advanced knowledge and skills in the development and design of graphics and multimedia, including the processing and editing of digital photos and videos, the basics of DTP, digital printing and print media;
- the design, programming and practical application of microcontrollers, controllers, automation systems, embedded systems and Internet of Things systems;
- knowledge of modern methods of work organization and project management in order to achieve high quality and efficiency of operation and allowing for conducting and participating in complex IT projects.

- the habit of life-long learning, acquiring new knowledge and skills in the changing realities of the IT engineer's work;
- knowledge enabling to start second-cycle programme.
Who can you be when you graduate
- an employee of IT companies and other companies and organizations involved in the creation, implementation or maintenance of IT tools and systems;
- a developer of desktop, web and mobile applications using database systems and network technologies;
- a specialist in companies providing Internet services and dealing with the composition and computer editing of video, graphics and texts, e.g. in advertising agencies;
- an employee of companies creating software/hardware components based on microcontrollers, controllers and elements of the Internet of Things in automation, control and monitoring systems;
- an administrator of network systems and database systems.
Confirmation of English language skills
For programmes conducted in English, the candidate must submit a declaration of English language proficiency enabling him or her to start studying.
Admission procedure
Candidates holding a 2005 matura certificate:
The number of points obtained from the following subjects determines the position of the candidate on the ranking list:
- a subject of choice: Mathematics or Physics/Physics and Astronomy at the standard or higher level
- foreign language at the standard or higher level.
If the candidate passed the higher level exam, the number of points is multiplied by 1.5.
Candidates holding the so-called "Old Matura"
The number of qualification points is the sum of points converted according to the scale given in point 2.2. of the Regulations of the Admissions Procedure for programmes conducted in English from the grades obtained at the secondary-school leaving exam in the following subjects:
- a subject of choice: Mathematics or Physics/Physics and Astronomy,
- foreign language (if there is no exam grade in a foreign language, a grade in Polish is taken into account).
Fees
Information about required and paid fees and an individual bank account number are available in the menu My account / Payments. The admission fee – PLN85 – should be paid as soon as possible after registration of the application and no later than one day before the date of completion of the admission period.
The admission fee is refundable if it is applied for by a candidate in writing and only in the following cases:
- the programme, the postgraduate programme, the specialist education course and education in other forms is not open for reasons attributable to the University,
- withdrawal of admission documents by the candidate before their analysis by the admissions committee,
- in the event that the candidate makes a payment after the deadline set in the Regulations of the Admission Procedure and will not be enroled.
The recruitment fee – PLN85 – should be paid as soon as possible after registration of the application and no later than one day before the date of completion of the admission period.

Fee for issuing an Electronic Student Card (ELS) - PLN22
Note! The ELS fee is paid once, regardless of the number of selected programmes. It should be submitted after receiving information about enrolment.
The fees for programmes conducted in English are determined by the Rector’s order
The semester fee for full-time Computer Science programme in English for students who are Polish citizens starting the education cycle in the academic year 2023/2024 (first-cycle programme) is PLN2,500
The semester fee for full-time Computer Science programme in English for foreign students starting the education cycle in the academic year 2023/2024 (first-cycle programme) is PLN10,600
The fees for full-time programmes in English are paid to the University's bank account (other than that for the admission fee or the Electronic Student Card fee), by 15 October in the winter semester and by 15 March in the summer semester. You will receive the bank account number to pay for your programme after you are enroled as a student.
